There have been so many negotiations lately that I appreciate every minute I paint. When colored volumes appear on paper, I forget about all the urgent things to do and plunge into spots and lines. This state brings balance.
About still-lifes, Rotko and plans

My studio was filled with the whiff of bergamot. I cleaned the floor and it became clear how to make this day, how to sort out unframed paintings, which are in the way of new ones, and what to do with my photo footage. Having taken away a still-life from my easel, I paused to think how long I had been working with still-lifes.
Old eucalyptus and spring

I usually have a lot of plants on my windowsill. They are drying beautifully in vases and then lasting well for a long time until something new appears. I love eucalyptus.

Сегодня день Антона Павловича Чехова, Владимира Набокова и поля, залитого утренним светом. Слушаю и рисую.
Этап у картины сложный, нужно добавить акцентов и собрать воедино детали, которые пока смотрятся отдельно.
Экспериментальная пастель

Весь день работала над текущей картиной, но от меня все время ускользал цвет, то казался очень холодным, то очень бирюзовым, то мешали лишние цветовые пятна.
В такие моменты нужно сделать паузу и я решила полистать книгу Доун Эммерсон – “Экспериментальная пастель”, которая приехала недавно от издательства МИФ.
Пастелмат и пейзаж

Пришла на кухню отвлечься и заварить чай, но захватила с собой все, что только можно с рабочего стола. Передо мной списки дел на день и на месяц, а я смотрю в окно.
Поймала себя на мысли, что думаю о пастелмате, о свойствах бумаги. Думаю, почему у меня на ней так непросто идет работа. Наверное сковывается движение, нет легкости при работе на большом формате.
С этой бумагой я работаю не часто.
